Default Wear Holiday Items but still have your helmet affect

It's always fun getting the event holiday items, but when do people wear them? So I think Anet should allow people to wear there holiday mask/hat/whatever on/in place of their normal head piece but still have the armor affect of that head piece.

So if I had a 60 armor scar pattern with +4 and -75 hp (vile + sup death) on it, I should be able to wear my pumpkin head but still have the affect of the 60 armor, +4 death magic, and -75 hp. Any runes on holiday items would have to be wiped though. I think this would be fairly easy to do since we can already have our helmet not show and it can't unbalance the game in anyway.

/signed. I want to wear my tengu mask more, but I don't want to give up the +1 to attribute from my headpiece.

You should be able to have your Pumpkin Helm or any other holiday mask have the same stats as any other helm available in the game.

If you must pay a gold/material cost to a crafter for this to happen, for the sake of game balance, so be it.

The holiday item itself has no attributes on it. So in your inventory there can be a special slot for a holiday item above your helmet. Then there can be an extra option thing (like wear/disable cape) next to the holiday item saying... Wear (holiday item) in towns and outpost/combat zones/always. And the holiday item will replace the helmet, the helmet stats will still be in affect.

I love this idea, and extra slot to put the holiday item in, and the options to show and hide it at will.

Basically it be wearing a Hat on top of your normal head gear. At the moment holiday items are fun to collect. But pointless soon after.

I'd say just make it so you can take your holiday helmet or whatever to the weapon smith in your guild hall or armor guy and have it so they can take that and any other helmet and craft them both together so that you get the look of the holiday one with the effects of the one you already got yourself. Now wouldn't that solve all our problems with having too many worthless items in our storage and also have alot more variety in what people wear??!!

I would hate to party with bunch of people wearing a pumpkin head in the middle of june/july or wearing Santa Hats. While it wouldn't bother me with the Tengu or Dragon Mask or Antlers I still say no way! Eye sore ><

It would encourage people to wear thier "funny hats", which would break up the more serious mood that the game is going for. It would just seem strange to see bunch of pumpkin head defeading the Lich or Shiro and saving the world. (or just in any cut scean).

So, if GW is going for the more casual mood in the future (something like RO, where they are known for their head decorations), than yes, but if they want to keep the mood still serious, than no.

well if you think everyone may be wearing santa hats in july, maybe the items can only be seasonal. Pumpkin heads can only be worn around halloween time/event (and have the helmet affect) and the same with all the other items.

Pay crafting expenses to turn it into a usable helm in battle, wear holiday items in season (pumpkin in fall, santa hat in winter) and celebration masks (dragon, tengu) whenever you want. They should let us wear whatever helm/decoration we want in town though
